I. Đề bài Writing Task 1

The maps below show a plan of a city in 1950 and at the present. Summarize the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.

II. Bài mẫu band 8.0+

The two maps illustrate how a city has developed from 1950 to the present, focusing on population growth, infrastructure, and land use.

Overall, the city has undergone dramatic urban expansion, particularly in residential areas and transport.

In 1950, the city had a population of 20,000 and was concentrated around a central business district on the north side of a river. It was served by two major roads and a bridge connecting to government buildings on the southern bank. Residential area was located to the north of the central zone, semi-circling the area and an airport was located in the eastern part of the city while the surrounding area remained largely undeveloped.

Today, the population has grown tenfold to 200,000. Residential zones now occupy most of the city, extending to both sides of the river. A dam constructed by the airport has transformed the river into a huge lake, and a new business district has been established in the south, surrounding the original government area, which has been reduced in size. Additional larger government building has also been constructed further south. The airport has significantly expanded southward, and new roads and another bridge near the dam now link the southern and eastern sections of the city.
